Quick report on the Muskie Bash tourney we fished this weekend...

After our big win with 1st place at the MOMC (Michigan Ontario Muskie Club) Homer LeBlanc Classic a couple weeks ago, we were geared up for a repeat at the annual Muske Bash this weekend.  I did not get a final number on how many boats were in the tourney but at a guess it should have been around 60-70 putting the pot somewhere around 35-45 thousand.  The crew was beefed up for the occasion with 6 mates working rods and the captain at the helm.  Saturday we fished 19 hours with our largest fish at 52,5".  Not quite enough to run it in.  The biggest recorded Saturday was 55" caught by Secret Squirrel.  We went back out Sunday with a couple hours a sleep for some and a couple hours of drinking for others.  Four o'clock came aweful early and we would spend the next 5 hours struggling with lack of sleep, a couple hangovers, lots of weeds, heavy rain, strong winds and 1 walleye.  Not a good combination for morale.  Next time someone will be designated to check the weather report and let us know that we can sleep in till the storms pass and fish the last five hours of the tourney when the suns out!!  With the smell of mutiny in the air, we called it quits and didnt even get to the award dinner to see who won the damn thing.  It was a lot of fun all and all and we will be back to the waters soon, once we've had time to lick our wounds.  I will update the information on the tourney as info becomes available to me.
