Went out yesterday evening with Matt O. and Vortex for a little perch fishing on Lake St. Clair. Fished for about 3 hours in front of nine mile from 10ft-16ft and couldnt put a fish in the boat. Lots of surface weeds and high winds. Hopefully this settles down soon and we can get into some fish. Also heard that the MOMC muskie tournament this weekend did not even get one fished registered to qualify for a place. Maybe they should have held off on changing the size limit from 50" to 52". Or at least put it to a vote with the club before making such a decision on there own. We are a fishing club and should have some say so in these matters. This cant be good for the club! Aside from that, the only thing I have to report is that I have heard guys are doing well whipping for walleye in the St. Clair River. Also, my cousin Brian went out to Lake Michigan and a couple rivers shore fishing over last weekend and reported back with one Salmon. He says waters have been warm and fishing is slow and sporatic at best. Thats all for now, if you get into the fish give me a shout so we can all enjoy. Until I hear something good, I will be in the woods!
