Matt, Jeremy, and I picked up some new property this year, but the problem was we signed the lease just before bow season(talk about getting a late start)!! This property looked like a hunters dream!!

70 acres, 30 woods and the rest corn. Not a single soul has hunted this property in 3 years according to the land owner. It took us a couple of weeks to get settled in and have every lane desired cut. There was buck sign all over the property!!

Matt was getting a little excited and was doing a "Rub Dance"

We then bought trail cameras and figured out these deer were strictly nocturnal. We have only seen 5 deer during daylight hours! Talk about discouraging!!! We were determined not to give up.  It looks like I'm going to have to post the video in a different section(looks like I'm not as computer savvy as I thought I was).

As late October approached, a few more deer started showing their face during the day. I found a monster of a rub 50 yards from my stand.

This Hass took out the branch above the actual rub and destroyed the area around it!! As I sat in my customized tree stand that eve, dreams of a monster 14 point with drop tines danced about in my head.(Hey...I may as well think big if I’m going to be dreaming)!

We encountered a few warm days, so you know I had to air the dogs out.

Then I had to quench my parched mouth with a tasty beverage and throw a little dip on my lip!!!

On that same day around 9 O'clock, I had some movement behind me.  My heart raced for a brief second.  It at first sounded like a turkey...but it turned out to Punxsutawney Phil(for those who have not seen Groundhog's Day, shame on you!!!).

You know I wasn't touching that fat bastard.  The plastic bag looks like a veil!!  I shot it on its wedding day!  I felt a little bad at first, but after speaking with Kojak everything was Varmint Cong!!! That despicable little s*** had to die!!!!

Now we are into November and boy holly is it lookin good out there folks!!!  We have a new Hass running the property!  A nice 8 point.

I will post the videos soon if not today.

Good Luck Gentlemen
